This table was built for a client to house an heirloom set of billiard balls from their grandfather. It was designed to both elegantly display the set, as well as keep them safe for the next generations of the family.
In designing this piece it was imperative that the table – despite its diminutive size – honor the importance of the objects that it stored. This was achieved through a focus on proportions, subtle details, and the use of exceptionally beautiful figured wood. It is constructed with traditional mortise and tenon joinery and the nests for the individual balls were hand turned and polished.
The wood for this table was re-sawn and milled from a single piece of flame Claro Walnut originally cut for a luthier.
